Apply permissions to all items in a folder or a disk. On your Mac, select a folder or a disk, then choose File Get Info. Click the lock icon to unlock it, then enter an administrator name and password (or, if your Mac has Touch ID, use Touch ID). Note: Any custom dictionary that you create in Word is used by other Office for Mac applications. Make sure that a document is open. If no document is open, the next step won't work. On the Word menu, click Preferences. Under Authoring and Proofing Tools, click Spelling and Grammar. Under Spelling, click Dictionaries.

“After updating Windows OS on my system I keep receiving file permission errors in Microsoft Word whenever I try to edit or save the documents. I am unable to do anything with my documents due to these file permission errors. Can anyone suggest me proper way to fix file permission errors in Word documents?”
File permission errors in MS Word:
Microsoft Word may display various errors blocking access to documents, among which file permission error is one. Usually while saving edited documents, error will get displayed saying ‘Word cannot complete the save due to file permission error’. MS Word fails to save due to file permission errors that occur while editing Word file from network drive or a Word document with incorrect macro. It may even appear when trying to save edited Word files from USB drives.
Word with file permission error can be fixed easily by following this workaround:
Avoid editing Word documents from shared network folder. You can just save the edited file to local drive first and then synchronize it with network drive. Also, when Word files are saved on external storage devices, copy them to system hard drive before editing. If the document says file permission error, then try using Microsoft inbuilt repair utility called ‘Open and Repair’.
To use this option, open Word application, go to ‘File’ in menu bar and select ‘Open document’. Then select the file that shows file permission error and click the drop down button next to ‘Open’ button in the window. Now, select Open and Repair option. This will fix certain issues with Word documents. But, in most of the situations Word file permission errors cannot be resolved manually and in such instances, one should make use of some third party Word repair utilities.

The Dropbox icon has a red notification on it
Do you see a red notification on the Dropbox icon in the system tray or menu bar on your computer? Here are some possible reasons:
'Whitespace conflict'
If you have two nearly identical file names, you may see a 'Whitespace conflict.' A whitespace conflict means that two files names are identical except that one has an extra space at the end of the file name. Learn more about whitespace conflicts and how to avoid them in the future.
'File is in use'
Dropbox won't sync files that are 'locked' (or in use) by another application. When Dropbox skips the file, the status message in your Dropbox menu (from the system tray or menu bar) will report that the file is in use.
Applications lock files to prevent conflicts from occurring when the file is opened from one or more locations. For example, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc...) typically locks its files while they are open.
'Dropbox will stop syncing soon because it can’t update'
If the DropboxUpdate.exe process is disabled, you'll see the error message 'Dropbox will stop syncing soon because it can't update.'
DropboxUpdate.exe is a helper process that checks for new versions of the Dropbox app. It runs during installation of the Dropbox app, and once every hour afterwards. If the process finds a new version, it will auto-update.
This process must exist on any computer where Dropbox is installed. If you want to use Dropbox on your computer, you can’t disable this process.
Dropbox requires access to the internet to function. If the DropboxUpdate.exe helper process is unable to contact our servers to check for updates, Dropbox will stop syncing and you’ll see the “Dropbox will stop syncing soon because it can’t update” message. There are three possible fixes:
'Permission errors' and 'access denied' error
While using the desktop app, you may see 'permission errors' or an 'access denied' error if Dropbox was unable to sync certain files.
Permissions determine who (or which apps) can access files on your hard drive. If file permissions don't allow Dropbox access to your files, then Dropbox can't sync.
